Samsung Partners With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Ahead of October Launch

Samsung Steps Into the Warzone

Samsung Electronics announced Monday that it has locked in an exclusive partnership with Activision, making it the official TV, monitor, soundbar, and Wi-Fi speaker partner for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. The news arrived as a Gamescom press release, timed to the industry’s biggest late-summer gathering in Cologne, Germany. Modern Warfare 4 is still a few months out, with an October 23 release date, but Samsung is clearly not waiting around.

The deal covers a lot of ground. Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, framed it around immersion: “We are pleased to be the official TV, monitor, soundbar and Wi-Fi speaker partner for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, bringing players a more immersive experience through Samsung’s premium display and audio technologies.” Cody Neal, Head of Partnerships at Activision, added that the collaboration would let the game be showcased “with clarity, scale, and responsiveness that complement the intensity at the heart of Call of Duty.”

HDR10+ GAMING and Super Ultrawide Support

On the technical side, the partnership includes integration of Samsung’s HDR10+ GAMING technology into Modern Warfare 4. The format is designed to deliver more accurate color and contrast, and Samsung says it helps reflect the creative intent of the developers rather than just cranking up brightness and calling it a day.

The more immediately exciting detail for monitor enthusiasts is native 32:9 super ultrawide support. Samsung Odyssey G9 owners will be able to play Modern Warfare 4 in that format, which the company says gives players a broader sense of space in-game. In a franchise built around tight corners and fast reflexes, having more peripheral vision on screen is not a small thing.

Beta Access and Gaming Hub Streaming

Samsung is also wiring its ecosystem into the pre-launch buildup in a couple of practical ways. First, Samsung will distribute Beta Early Access codes through the Samsung Promotion app. Those codes cover August 21-25, ahead of the Open Beta that runs August 28 through September 1. Selected players can check availability through the Samsung TV Gaming Hub.

Second, Samsung Gaming Hub users will be able to watch Call of Duty: NEXT live on August 21 at 9 am PST. A tune-in banner will appear in the Gaming Hub masthead ahead of the event. Samsung Gaming Hub already aggregates major cloud gaming services, including Xbox Cloud Gaming, so the Call of Duty: NEXT stream slots into an existing content layer rather than requiring users to bounce between apps.

Gamescom Hands-On and Vault Edition Codes

For anyone heading to Gamescom 2026 in Cologne from August 26 to 30, Samsung will have Modern Warfare 4 playable on Odyssey gaming monitors at its booth. That makes it one of the earlier public hands-on opportunities with the title before its October launch. Samsung will also hand out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition Battle.net codes to select visitors who stop by.

The Vault Edition detail is worth noting. That is not a standard edition giveaway, which suggests Samsung is investing meaningfully in the on-floor experience rather than just slapping a logo on a banner.

Partnerships between hardware makers and major shooters are not new, but the scope here, spanning TVs, monitors, soundbars, Wi-Fi speakers, cloud streaming, beta distribution, and a live event presence, points to just how much ground Samsung is trying to cover before Modern Warfare 4 arrives on October 23.
