BLAST Open Porto Group Stage Produces Wall-to-Wall Highlights
From donk acing on Cache to YEKINDAR dismantling anti-ecos, the Copenhagen studio group stage delivered a dense reel of standout CS2 moments. Here is what went down across a full day of action.
donk and YEKINDAR Dominate the Clip Reel
The BLAST Open Porto 2026 group stage wrapped up its Copenhagen studio run on August 27, and HLTV compiled the best moments from a day that was, by any reasonable standard, extremely good for fans of absurd individual skill. Two players stood above the rest in terms of sheer clip volume: donk and YEKINDAR.
According to HLTV’s highlights package, donk produced at least three separate featured plays. He aced on Cache during the pistol round, aced again later to turn a 3v5 situation, and also downed three opponents to open up play on Ancient. That is a lot of aces for one group stage. YEKINDAR, for his part, continued what HLTV described as “his tear” with an anti-eco ace, a masterful A-site play that instantly ended a round, and then joined molodoy to flip a 3v5 on pistols. That last clip alone would have been a fine standalone moment for most players.
r1nkle, NertZ, and a Hero FAMAS
While donk and YEKINDAR grabbed the bulk of the marquee moments, the highlights reel had plenty of room for supporting acts. r1nkle was one of the more notable names, reaching 32 frags after a flashy triple and, separately, recording an ace with what HLTV labeled the “hero FAMAS.” Pulling out an ace with the FAMAS is the kind of thing that earns a player a certain amount of goodwill, and r1nkle appears to have earned it.
NertZ showed up twice in the package as well. As reported by HLTV, he caught Aurora off-guard with a Mid push, and in a separate clip he faded a smoke for a spraydown. Both plays showed good reads on opposing movement, the sort of thing that does not always make the highlight reel but tends to decide maps.
Clutch Moments and a Rough Day for paiN
Spirit’s sh1ro and magixx both contributed clutch plays. sh1ro closed out a 1v2, while magixx’s 1v2 led to what HLTV described as a last-second defuse, the kind of moment that probably caused someone on the opposing bench to stare at the ceiling for a few seconds.
Not every story was triumphant. HLTV noted that paiN Gaming had a rough start, including a clip where they ran out of time on a round. The Brazilian squad’s struggles were compounded by a yuurih pistol 1v2 going against them, adding to what the HLTV writeup described as piling on the misery. JBa also put together a 1v3 that HLTV said “all but finished off” NAVI, which is a brutal way to describe how that round went for the Ukrainian organization.
Elsewhere, MATYS whipped out the knife at one point and later turned a 2v4 into something viable with a 3K. G2 stayed composed under time pressure in their own featured moment. slaxz contributed an AWP 4K. b1t displayed his aim in a flashy 4K of his own. molodoy also opened things on the lighter side by knifing saffee to win a pistol round, which is the sort of play that lands differently depending on which side of it you are standing.
What the Clips Say About the Field
Taken together, the highlights from Copenhagen paint a picture of a tournament with genuine firepower spread across multiple teams. Spirit, with donk producing multiple aces, looks like the kind of squad that can run away with rounds in spectacular fashion. YEKINDAR’s presence in so many clips suggests he is in form at a time when his team needs it. And r1nkle posting 32 frags while also finding time to ace with a FAMAS is worth keeping an eye on as the event moves toward its next stage in Porto.
