be quiet! has spent years building a reputation around one idea: making PC components that do their job without making a fuss. Fans, power supplies, cases, CPU coolers. The German manufacturer has carved out a premium niche by treating noise reduction as a design philosophy rather than a bullet point. Now the company is bringing that same sensibility to the desk surface, announcing the Light Mount TKL mechanical keyboard and the Mousepad XL on August 11, 2026.

For a brand that has never sold a keyboard before, be quiet! is not exactly starting small.

Light Mount TKL: Silence Is the Feature

The Light Mount TKL is an 80% tenkeyless layout, which means no numpad and more room to swing a mouse around. That is a common and sensible choice for a gaming keyboard, but what be quiet! is leaning into hardest is the noise story. The board ships with the company’s own Silent V2 Switches in two flavors: orange linear and black tactile. According to the announcement, both versions feature an increased thickness of the gold contact point and optimized lubrication, tuned for what be quiet! describes as whisper-quiet operation.

Beyond the switches themselves, the keyboard uses a triple-layer dampening system. Foam sits between the switches and PCB, below the PCB, and inside the bottom housing. The bigger question heading into launch is whether be quiet!‘s deep expertise in acoustic engineering translates into a keyboard that actually sounds and feels as controlled as the spec sheet promises. Triple-layer dampening and lubed switches are ingredients that skilled keyboard builders know well. Whether be quiet! has cooked them into something that justifies a premium price tag is the kind of thing that only extended typing time will answer.
