AOC's CQ32G4ZA Lets Gamers Swap Between 260Hz, 360Hz, and 500Hz

One Screen, Three Different Monitors

Most gaming monitors make you pick a lane. You want high resolution or high frame rate, and you live with that choice until you buy something else. AGON by AOC is pitching a different answer with the CQ32G4ZA, a 31.5-inch curved display that offers three selectable resolution and refresh rate combinations from a single on-screen menu.

According to AGON by AOC, the modes break down by use case. QHD at 260Hz is aimed at detail-rich titles where texture quality matters more than raw speed, covering RPGs, strategy games, and open-world adventures. FHD at 360Hz is meant for competitive shooters where frame rate consistency earns its keep. HD at 500Hz is for players chasing the absolute highest frame rate regardless of pixel count. The idea being that you are not buying three monitors; you are buying one that can flex between them.

This is the first AOC monitor to offer Triple Refresh Rate technology, as the company calls it. César Acosta, Senior Gaming Product Manager at AGON by AOC, noted in the announcement that the brand’s earlier Dual Refresh Rate 4K monitors found an audience because they addressed a genuine tension in gaming. “With the CQ32G4ZA, we are taking that flexibility a step further,” Acosta said. “By adding FHD at 360Hz between QHD at 260Hz and HD at 500Hz, we are giving players three distinct performance options in one display, making it easier to choose the right setting for the game they are playing.”

He also confirmed the CQ32G4ZA is the start of something larger, describing it as “the beginning of a broader Triple Refresh Rate portfolio, with more models set to follow.”

What the Panel Brings to the Table

Under that curved shell is a Fast VA panel with a 1500R curvature, which AGON by AOC says keeps the corners of the screen within comfortable sight lines on a 31.5-inch surface. Static contrast sits at 4,000:1, brightness tops out at 450 cd/m², and color coverage reaches 95% DCI-P3. The display also carries VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification.

On the speed side, the monitor specs out at 0.3ms MPRT and up to 1ms GtG, with Adaptive-Sync support to match the monitor’s refresh rate to GPU output and cut tearing and stutter. For longer sessions, a DC backlight provides Flicker-Free operation, and a software-level Low Blue Light mode is available to reduce eye strain during extended play.

Ports, Stand, and Software

Connectivity is fairly straightforward: two HDMI 2.0 inputs, one DisplayPort 1.4, and a 3.5mm headphone output. Built-in speakers handle audio without requiring a separate device. AOC includes its G-Menu software so players can adjust monitor settings from the desktop rather than navigating the on-screen display.

The stand covers 120mm of height adjustment along with tilt and swivel. Remove it entirely and the monitor accepts standard 100x100mm VESA mounting for arm setups.

Pricing and Availability

The AOC GAMING CQ32G4ZA is scheduled to arrive in December 2026 at an MSRP of £239.99, according to AGON by AOC. That pricing is UK-facing for now, with no US figure announced at the time of writing.

At roughly 240 pounds for a 500Hz-capable display with a legitimate high-contrast VA panel behind it, the CQ32G4ZA is positioning itself as a practical middle ground for players who genuinely do switch between slow-burn RPG sessions and twitchy competitive play. Whether the Fast VA panel’s motion handling at 500Hz lives up to the spec sheet is the question that hands-on testing will eventually answer.
