IGN Offers Free Spider-Man Guide Checklists Through September 15

Free for One Month, and Actually Useful

If you have been thinking about replaying the Marvel’s Spider-Man trilogy, IGN is making it a little easier to finally chase that platinum. From August 15 through September 15, 2026, the site is offering free access to its full suite of guide checklists across all three Insomniac Spider-Man titles, no subscription required. The promotion is timed to the theatrical release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, according to the announcement written by IGN Guides Checklists Editor Shailyn Cotten.

The checklists are not just static lists you print out and tape to your monitor. IGN’s system syncs directly with its interactive maps. Mark a collectible as found on the map and it checks itself off in the corresponding written guide, and vice versa. For completionists who bounce between a walkthrough and a map tab every thirty seconds, that kind of real-time sync is genuinely handy.

What Each Game’s Guides Cover

For the original Marvel’s Spider-Man, IGN says its Manhattan interactive map has hundreds of locations marked, covering everything from Secret Photo Ops to Black Cat Stakeouts. The checklists have also been recently updated to include Suits and Trophies tracking. Guides available during the free window include the full walkthrough, a Suits list, a Trophies guide, and the interactive map.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales gets similar treatment. According to IGN, that game’s guides have been refreshed this month with checklists for Spider-Man Suits and Postcards, along with an interactive map that tracks Easter Eggs across Manhattan. Whether you are coming back to finish what you started or starting fresh, the Miles Morales walkthrough and suit list are part of the free access.

Spider-Man 2 is where things get especially timely. IGN notes that Version 1.005 recently added new Suits tied to the Brand New Day film and a Marvel Tokon crossover, and those are now reflected in the updated guides. The Spider-Man 2 checklist lineup includes a full walkthrough, all Spider-Bot locations, a Trophy and hidden trophies guide, and the interactive map with automatic progress syncing.

Why the Timing Makes Sense

Tying a guides promotion to a film release is a reasonable move. Theatrical buzz has a way of sending people back to their consoles, and someone who just watched Brand New Day on the big screen might find themselves wanting to suit up again by the time they get home. The new film-inspired suits in Spider-Man 2 give returning players a concrete new thing to hunt down, and the free checklist window runs long enough that you could realistically make a serious dent in a completionist run.

The promotion runs until September 15, 2026. After that date, full checklist functionality will presumably require an IGN subscription, so players who want to take advantage have about a month to work through whatever collectibles have been haunting them.
