None of that stops the Godwyn theorists, of course. The character, a demigod who suffered a fate widely described by fans as worse than death, has one of the more tangled and emotionally resonant stories in all of Elden Ring lore. He is also, conspicuously, a thread the base game never quite resolved. If FromSoftware ever were to return to the Lands Between for a second expansion, Godwyn would be a natural focal point.
