A 27-Year-Old Conference Finds a Very 2026 Agenda

TribalNet has been connecting tribal IT professionals with gaming and hospitality leaders for more than a quarter century, but the 2026 edition arriving in Dallas this fall may be its most timely yet. The agenda for the TribalNet Conference and Tradeshow, set for September 20-24 at the Hilton Anatole, has been unveiled with a noticeably sharpened focus on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, according to CDC Gaming. Both topics are woven throughout the event’s eight educational tracks, which also cover general technology, tribal-health info management, leadership, tribal-government member services, and a set of highly technical sessions.

Registration is up almost 30% compared to the same point last year, and the tradeshow floor is on track to sell out its 250-plus booths. The event is expected to bring roughly 2,000 attendees in total, including exhibitors and speakers.

Technology Belongs to Everyone, Not Just IT

Mike Day, CEO of TribalHub, the organization behind TribalNet, framed the expanded AI track as something well beyond a conversation for the tech department. “You don’t have to be a technologist to be a part of the decision and strategy of what you’re going to do now,” Day said, as reported by CDC Gaming. “You don’t have to be technical to use AI.”

Day pointed to a leadership advisory board made up of industry figures who are not in IT, noting that group contributed significantly to shaping the agenda. The dedicated Leadership track is designed specifically to address the strategic roles that non-technical executives need to play if their organizations want to stay competitive. “Technology is going to define what level of success you’re going to reach and whether you are going to be able to compete and do better than your competitor,” Day said.

That framing matters in tribal gaming, where casino and hospitality operations run complex, interconnected systems and leadership decisions about technology carry real financial weight.

Gaming Sessions Worth Circling on the Schedule

For attendees focused squarely on the casino floor side of things, a gaming-system-providers panel stands out. IGT, Aristocrat, Light and Wonder, and CasinoTrac are all scheduled to discuss where they think tribal gaming is headed. Patrick Tinklenberg, vice president of IT at Sycuan Casino Resort, will moderate the conversation, which is expected to cover new advancements in gaming systems, how those systems are holding up against a rising tide of cyberattacks, and how casinos can better use their casino-management-system capabilities.

A separate session will look at technology and the guest experience, featuring Rohith Kori, senior vice president of product strategy and food and beverage at Agilysys, and Xavier Grace of Quick Custom Intelligence. The premise is straightforward but increasingly urgent: patrons expect friction-free service from check-in to cash-out, and the properties that can deliver that have a real competitive edge. The session will examine technologies built to smooth out that entire guest journey.

There is also a session dedicated to the relationship between regulatory bodies and IT departments, an area that tribal gaming operators know well. Compliance and innovation can pull in different directions, and the session is framed around strategies for making that relationship more collaborative.

Why the Timing Makes Sense

Cybersecurity in particular has become a pressing concern across the broader casino industry over the past few years, with high-profile incidents reminding operators that no property is too large or too established to be targeted. For tribal gaming organizations, which often manage not just casino floors but health services and government operations under one enterprise, the stakes of a security failure extend beyond the gaming floor itself.

Sessions and speakers are still being finalized ahead of the September dates, but the shape of the agenda suggests TribalNet is positioning itself as the place where tribal leaders come to figure out not just what technology is available, but how to make decisions about it with confidence.
