The original earned a reputation for atmosphere and detective work, and the sequel looks to lean harder into survival horror. As described on Xbox Wire, the game is set in 1920s Arkham and built around deliberate, tense, resource-lean gameplay. Pressure builds as players push deeper into the city, and relief comes only in brief pockets of refuge. That last detail matters. Games that gate fast travel or shortcuts behind progress tend to create a satisfying sense of earned familiarity with a space, turning a threatening environment into something you gradually learn to navigate rather than simply fear.
