Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is the clear headliner. As reported by Xbox Wire, attendees will be able to jump into Core 6v6 Multiplayer on Xbox Series X, sampling what the company describes as the franchise’s fluid movement and ballistics systems. Xbox noted that whether players participated in the Early Access Beta or are coming in completely fresh, gamescom is the place to get a proper feel for where Modern Warfare multiplayer is heading next.

Gears of War: E-Day is bringing something particularly notable to the show floor: the first public playable campaign demo. Xbox Wire says the hands-on section will cover the origins of the Locust War and the early bond between Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago. For series veterans, that framing alone is enough to generate anticipation. E-Day is slated to release on October 6, 2026, so gamescom attendees will be getting a rare early look at story content roughly ten weeks before launch.

Xbox FanFest is coming back alongside the main booth presence. According to Xbox Wire, the event will gather members of the global Xbox community for exclusive experiences, though specific FanFest details were not fully outlined in the announcement. For a brand marking a quarter-century, dedicating a portion of its biggest European show moment to fans rather than purely to press feels like a deliberate choice.

For everyone who cannot make the trip to Cologne, Xbox confirmed it will be streaming the event live on both YouTube and Twitch. That coverage will include developer interviews, special guests, gameplay reveals, and new trailers. The live stream approach means the show floor energy has a reasonable chance of reaching the broader global audience that follows Xbox but will never set foot in Germany.
