For the past however-long you have been running your virtual trading card shop in TCG Card Shop Simulator, those Tetramon cards have served exactly one purpose: profit. You ordered the booster packs, stocked the shelves, cracked the packs, and maybe kept a few choice pulls for yourself. But actually sitting down across from an opponent and dueling? That part was always just out of reach.

That changes on September 15, 2026. As announced by Ding Shen Sia, founder of developer O.P.Neon Games, on Xbox Wire, TCG Card Shop Simulator hits its full 1.0 release that day, and its headline feature is Tetramon Duel Masters, a fully playable in-game trading card game built around the same Tetramon cards you have been buying and selling since day one.

The game is currently available in Game Preview on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC through Xbox Game Pass, and according to the announcement, it has drawn over 3.5 million players across those platforms since launch. That is a real number for a solo indie project, and it speaks to just how many people apparently want to pretend to run a card shop.

How Tetramon Duel Masters Actually Works

For players who have never touched a trading card game before, the structure here is pretty approachable. According to the Xbox Wire guide, every duel starts with a 50-card deck, capped at 4 copies of any single named card. You shuffle, draw an opening hand of 5 cards, and if those 5 cards make you want to flip the table, you get one mulligan: push the hand to the bottom of the deck, draw a fresh 5, then reshuffle before play begins.

Before a single card hits the field, both players set the top 4 cards of their deck face-down into a Guardian Area. Those cards sit untouched until Tamer Points start taking serious damage. Speaking of which, both duelists begin with 500 Tamer Points, and the goal is straightforward: drain your opponent’s down to zero before they do the same to you.

The Guardian Area adds a layer of tension to the damage math. As reported by the Xbox Wire guide, those face-down cards only come into play once Tamer Points start dropping, which means there is a built-in comeback mechanic hiding in your deck from the very first turn.

Why This Moment Matters for the Game

Sia’s post is candid about where the request to play the card game came from: everywhere, and constantly. “There’s one thing all of you have been asking from the beginning,” he wrote on Xbox Wire, framing Tetramon Duel Masters as a direct response to community feedback over the entire Game Preview period.

That context matters. Card shop simulators are a surprisingly popular genre, and part of their appeal is the fantasy of being close to the cards without necessarily engaging with the competitive side of the hobby. TCG Card Shop Simulator built its 3.5 million player base almost entirely on the buying, selling, and collecting loop. Adding a real duel mode does not replace that loop, it layers on top of it. The cards you cracked from packs are now the cards you can bring to the table.

For anyone who has been sitting on a collection of Tetramon cards since Game Preview launched, September 15 is a good day to start thinking about what kind of deck you actually want to build.
