PS Plus August 2026 Poll: Kingdom Come 2 Leads the Pack

Subscribers Are Broadly Happy, With One Clear Standout

August 2026 is shaping up to be a solid month for PS Plus, and readers of Push Square appear to agree. According to a poll published by the outlet, 64 percent of respondents with PS Plus Extra said they were either “very happy” or “mostly happy” with this month’s additions. Only 14 percent called the lineup disappointing or worse.

The headliner, at least in terms of subscriber enthusiasm, is Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. In a separate poll asking which Extra game readers were most looking forward to, the open-world RPG claimed 29 percent of the vote across 1,137 responses. That is a comfortable lead over Hell Is Us at 16 percent and Helldivers 2 at 11 percent. Push Square’s Robert Ramsey described Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 as “one of the finest RPGs available on PS5,” noting that its realistic, sim-adjacent approach takes some adjustment but rewards patience with a genuinely immersive adventure.

Helldivers 2, the other marquee Extra title, has been one of Sony’s biggest live-service success stories. Ramsey noted that the game has received enough updates over its lifespan that new players are stepping into a remarkably full-featured experience.

A Strong Supporting Cast

Beyond those two, the August Extra lineup covers a fair amount of ground. Vampire Survivors, the perpetually addictive auto-battler roguelike, is joining the service, as is Hell Is Us, the action RPG that Push Square calls “intriguing and often downright weird.” Dying Light 2 and Metro Exodus round out the post-apocalyptic side of things, offering the kind of open-world survival experiences that can quietly consume entire weekends.

Two Point Museum and Umamusume Pretty Derby - Party Dash also feature in the lineup, adding management and party game variety to a month that leans heavily on action and RPGs.

Premium Gets a Pair of Classics

For PS Plus Premium subscribers, August is a bit of a throwback. Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, originally released on PS2, is the more notable of the two classic additions. Ramsey noted it as a solid representative of that particular Capcom era and pointed out that its timing is convenient, arriving roughly a month before Onimusha: Way of the Sword hits the platform. Consider it a warm-up act.

The second classic is Atlantis: The Lost Empire, the PS1 tie-in to Disney’s animated film. Push Square’s verdict was diplomatically mild: “a solid PS1 adaptation” and “a decent nostalgia pick.” Premium subscribers were notably more divided in the poll than their Extra counterparts. Thirty percent expressed happiness with the Premium additions, while 31 percent said they did not even have the tier, making satisfaction harder to gauge cleanly.

What the Numbers Suggest

Polling 1,155 Extra subscribers and 847 Premium subscribers, the Push Square data paints a picture of a subscriber base that is cautiously pleased rather than euphoric. The 37 percent “very happy” figure for Extra is a genuine vote of confidence for a month anchored by two critically praised, very different RPGs. Premium satisfaction is softer, which tracks with any month where classic game additions carry the weight.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 pulling nearly a third of all first-choice votes on its own says something about how much appetite exists for dense, slow-burn RPGs on PS5. Helldivers 2, despite being one of the platform’s defining co-op experiences of recent years, came in a distant second. And 16 percent of respondents said they were not looking forward to any of the Extra titles, a number that is worth watching as Sony continues to build out what the subscription means to players beyond the first-party marquee releases.
