Oblivion Remastered and Madden 27 Lead a Big Switch 2 eShop Week

A Landmark Week for the Switch 2 Library

The Nintendo Download for August 13th in North America is one of those weeks that makes the eShop feel genuinely stacked. As reported by Nintendo Life, two major titles landed on Switch 2 within days of each other, and neither one is easy to ignore.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered arrived on August 11th priced at $49.99. Bethesda describes it as a modernized edition of the open-world fantasy RPG, rebuilt from scratch with new visuals and performance. That means everything from characters and weapons down to, yes, pieces of cheese and sweetrolls has been recreated. The package includes previously released story expansions Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine, and more. Nintendo Life reviewed the Switch 2 version and called it a solid update of an all-time classic RPG, which is a reasonable bar for a game that has spent two decades earning goodwill.

Landing on August 13th is EA SPORTS Madden NFL 27 at $69.99. EA is pitching this one hard on its revamped Franchise mode, where athletes now carry distinct personalities that shape their motivations, demands, and reactions as the season unfolds. On the field, the focus is on physicality, with more precise wide receiver and defensive back battles, new short-yardage mechanics, and defensive coverage improvements. The new Superstar G.O.A.T. Career Journey and Ultimate Team Captains round out the feature list for players who like to build rosters as much as they like to run them.

Moonlighter 2 Is Coming, and You Can Try It Now

Not every big game this week is already out. Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault from 11 bit studios is set for September 2nd at $26.99, but it already has a presence on the eShop. Pre-orders are live, and a free demo is available right now for anyone who wants to get a feel for the loop before committing.

The premise sticks close to the original Moonlighter formula. You explore vibrant dimensions, fight enemies, gather loot, and then bring that loot back to run a shop. Each run becomes a question of how far you push and how much you can carry home. Set your prices, watch customers react, and build your reputation among what the description calls a ragtag community of castaways. If the first game scratched that merchant-hero itch for you, the demo is right there.

Nintendo Life also notes that a physical edition is confirmed for November, available in Standard or Collector’s Editions.

The Rest of the Week’s New Releases

A few other titles landed in the Switch 2 eShop this week that deserve a mention.

BlazbBlue Entropy Effect X, the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition from 91Act, is out August 13th for $26.98. It is a roguelite action game set in the BlazBlue universe, built around fast-paced combat and a narrative involving researchers at a mysterious lab scrambling to collect fragments that might prevent the end of the world. Fans of the franchise’s roster will find familiar faces.

CloverPit from Future Friends Games also dropped August 13th at $9.99. The concept is genuinely odd in a good way. You are locked in a cell with a slot machine and an ATM, and you have to pay off a debt at the end of each round or face ruin. Manipulating the slot machine and stacking prizes and charms is the path forward. It is the kind of weird, compact rogue-lite that the eShop does well.

Finally, HAMSTER’s Arcade Archives series added COMBAT SCHOOL, the 1987 Konami action game, on August 6th for $9.99. You join a military academy as a cadet and survive brutal training disciplines under an unforgiving instructor. Classic arcade difficulty, preserved.

With Oblivion Remastered reviewed and recommended, Madden 27 arriving at launch day parity with other platforms, and Moonlighter 2 already playable via demo, this is a week where Switch 2 owners have real decisions to make.
