FURIA has announced that FURIA fe, its women’s Counter-Strike team, will fully transition to VALORANT. The move closes out a six-year chapter for one of South America’s most decorated women’s rosters. According to HLTV, the squad claimed multiple regional titles over that span and made four appearances at the ESL Impact League Finals, finishing as runners-up three times before finally winning the whole thing in Season 7.

That is a genuine legacy. And now it belongs entirely to CS history.

The departing roster consists of Karina ‘kaahSENSEI’ Takahashi, Izabella ‘izaa’ Galle, Gabriela ‘gabs’ Freindorfer, Bruna ‘bizinha’ Marvila, and Lucia ‘lulitenz’ Dubra. All five will carry their FURIA ties into a new game and a new competitive environment.

The Scene They Are Leaving Behind

The timing matters. HLTV frames the announcement as a severe blow to an already fractured women’s scene. Her stated reasoning, as reported by HLTV, was direct: she cited ‘female CS falling apart and the lack of tournaments coming up.’ That is a pretty clear-eyed assessment from someone who had every reason to want things to be different.

Why VALORANT Keeps Winning This Argument

This is not an isolated story. Over the past two years, women’s Counter-Strike has steadily lost players to VALORANT, and the pattern has a familiar shape. A competitor reaches the ceiling of what their scene can offer, looks across at a game with more structured support, more frequent events, and more organizational investment in women’s play, and makes a practical decision.

FURIA fe spent six years building something real in CS. They reached the highest stage their circuit provided and won it. The fact that they are still moving on tells you something about the structural situation rather than anything about their commitment to the game.

For now, the five players are listed without a team on HLTV, suggesting the VALORANT roster configuration is still taking shape. What form FURIA fe takes in its new game remains to be seen. But the Counter-Strike version of the squad, the one that ground through South American competition for half a decade and finally lifted that ESL Impact trophy, is done. That run deserved a better ending than an indefinite hold on the circuit that gave it meaning.
