Veigar Gets a Fiery Cat Makeover

League of Legends Season 3: Act 1 is officially underway, and with it comes a new Battle Pass carrying one of the more visually distinct Prestige skins in recent memory. As reported by Dot Esports, the pass launched today, July 29, 2026, and will stay active through October 6. Players have a solid ten weeks to work through all 56 milestones before the pass shuts down on October 7.

The premium track’s centerpiece is the Prestige Magma Chamber Veigar skin, unlocked at Level 48. It comes paired with a border icon and an exclusive chroma that leans hard into the fiery feline theme. The tiny master of evil, as the source describes it, gets a full makeover that is quite a departure from his usual dark-wizard aesthetic. Whether that lands for longtime Veigar mains is another question, but the skin will almost certainly move some RP.

The premium pass is priced at 1,650 RP, consistent with what Riot has charged for previous passes this year, according to Dot Esports.

What the Free Track Actually Offers

Not every player will drop the RP, and the free track does offer a reasonable slice of the overall rewards. Free milestones include a Darius Champion Shard at Level 6, a Garen Champion Shard at Level 22, multiple Hextech Chest and Key bundles, a handful of Mystery Icons, Mystery Emotes, and a total of several thousand Blue Essence spread across the track. A Champion Capsule shows up at both Level 11 and Level 31, and the Veigar Champion Shard itself is a free reward at Level 46, one level before the Prestige skin drops on the paid side.

The free track also gives out a “Phenomenally Evil” title at Level 40, which is a small touch that fits the seasonal Veigar theming without requiring a purchase.

Premium Rewards Worth Knowing

For players who do pick up the pass, the premium track layers in a consistent stream of extras on top of the free rewards. Dot Esports’ full breakdown shows two Enchanting Mystery Skins (Levels 8 and 24), multiple Summoner’s Orbs, 25 Mythic Essence at Level 32, three bundles of Ancient Sparks, and two separate 500 Orange Essence drops at Levels 37 and 45. A 2026 Season 3 Ward lands at Level 44 as well.

Progression works the same way it has through this year’s pass structure. Players earn milestones by playing Summoner’s Rift or ARAM and completing missions. There is no separate currency grind or token system reported here. You play, you advance, you collect.

A Long Runway Before October

With roughly ten weeks on the clock and 56 levels to clear, the pacing feels manageable for most regular players without requiring marathon sessions. The real question, as always, is whether the Prestige skin at the end of the premium track justifies the entry price. For Veigar mains who have been waiting on a high-tier cosmetic, a magma-themed cat transformation is a fairly specific proposition. For everyone else, the free track’s steady drip of chests, shards, and essence still makes casual engagement worthwhile without spending a thing.

The pass runs concurrently with all of Season 3: Act 1’s other content, so players have plenty of reasons to keep logging in regardless of which track they are on.
