A Registration, Five Names, and a Lot of Hope

League of Legends fans have been waiting on K/DA for a while now. The virtual K-pop group’s last project, the ALL OUT EP, dropped back in 2020, and the years since have been quiet on that front. But something surfaced this week that has the community paying close attention.

A song titled WATCH ME has been registered with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, with K/DA listed as the performers, according to Dot Esports. The registration does not include a release date and does not confirm that Riot Games has a new K/DA project in active development. What it does include, though, is a writing team that reads like a deliberate assembly of exactly the right people for this kind of record.

The Songwriter Lineup Is Hard to Dismiss

The ASCAP filing lists five writers: Nija Aisha-Alayja Charles, Felicia Ferraro, Sebastien Najand, Ali Tamposi, and Federico Vindver.

Start with Nija Charles, who works professionally as Amnija. She is a Grammy-nominated songwriter with credits on Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s Rain on Me, Ariana Grande’s Positions, and Beyonce’s Water. Her catalog spans pop, R&B, and hip-hop, with work alongside Jay-Z, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and Drake. Given K/DA’s established identity as a blend of Western pop production and K-pop aesthetics, her involvement makes a certain kind of sense.

Felicia Ferraro, known as Feli, brings direct K-pop experience to the table. Her credits include BTS’ Run BTS, and her publisher lists additional work on David Guetta, Anne-Marie, and Coi Leray’s Baby Don’t Hurt Me, as well as Normani’s Waves and Chris Brown’s Undecided.

Ali Tamposi has co-written some of the most durable pop songs of the past decade: Camila Cabello’s Havana and Senorita, 5 Seconds of Summer’s Youngblood, DJ Snake and Justin Bieber’s Let Me Love You, and Kelly Clarkson’s Stronger. She and Federico Vindver also share a credit on KATSEYE’s My Way, connecting the reported WATCH ME team to current global pop. Vindver rounds out the list with credits on Meghan Trainor’s Made You Look and Coldplay’s Higher Power.

The Name That Makes This a League Story

All of those credentials are notable, but one name on the registration stands above the rest for anyone following Riot’s music output: Sebastien Najand.

Najand is currently a Principal Composer at Riot Games, and his fingerprints are on some of the most beloved music in the League universe. He has songwriting and production credits on K/DA’s POP/STARS and THE BADDEST, along with major League anthems including RISE, GODS, and Legends Never Die. He also worked extensively on the Arcane soundtrack as a composer, producer, and mixing engineer.

His presence in this registration is not circumstantial. It is the clearest indicator that WATCH ME is connected to an official Riot project rather than something tangential. The combination of a sitting Riot principal composer alongside five experienced pop and K-pop writers suggests this is not a demo that drifted into the wrong database.

What Comes Next Is Still Unknown

Dot Esports notes that the filing offers no timeline and no formal confirmation from Riot. ASCAP registrations have surfaced before official announcements in the past, and that pattern may be playing out here again.

K/DA debuted in 2018 with POP/STARS, a song that genuinely crossed over beyond the League audience and set a template for virtual artist projects that the games industry has been chasing ever since. The 2020 ALL OUT EP expanded the group’s sound and brought in real vocalists including (G)I-DLE members Miyeon and Minnie alongside Madison Beer and Jaira Burns. If WATCH ME does eventually arrive, it would be carrying a lot of expectation, and on the evidence of who wrote it, Riot appears to know that.
