According to Dot Esports, a recent update to League of Legends’ public beta environment appears to have exposed Hall of Legends assets referencing G2 Esports mid laner Rasmus “Caps” Winther, along with details pointing to Tristana as the champion receiving his Immortalized Legend skin. The developer has not yet officially confirmed anything, but the apparent leak arrives just five days before the scheduled announcement.

If confirmed, Caps would become the third player ever inducted into the Hall of Legends, following Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok in 2024 and Jian “Uzi” Zi-hao in 2025. He would also be the first European player to receive the honor, and only the second active player, after Faker himself.

Why Caps, Why Now

The case for Caps does not rest on a single moment. As Dot Esports notes, his career has stretched across multiple eras of League esports. He reached the World Championship finals in 2018 with Fnatic, returned the following year with G2 Esports and did it again, and helped G2 win the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational. He has also accumulated 17 LEC domestic titles between his time at Fnatic and G2, a number that puts him among the most decorated players the region has ever produced.

What makes that record especially notable is that it was built on two sides of a rivalry. Caps was central to Fnatic’s run before becoming the offensive engine for G2, and in both cases his aggressive, mechanically dense playstyle helped shape how Western teams competed internationally. He is not a historical relic, either. Still active, still competing at the highest level of the LEC, Caps would join Faker as the only Hall of Legends honorees recognized while still playing the game professionally.

The Tristana Question

The more debated part of the reported leak is the champion attached to the skin. According to the leaked information cited by Dot Esports, Tristana will be the recipient of Caps’ Immortalized Legend skin. Early community reactions have been mixed. Many fans expected champions more closely associated with his peak years, names like Sylas, Syndra, or LeBlanc surfacing repeatedly in discussion.

But Tristana has a real, if unconventional, connection to Caps. As Dot Esports points out, he made the champion work as a mid-lane carry during periods when the meta allowed it, pulling a traditionally bot-lane marksman into a solo lane role and making it look natural. That willingness to ignore the standard boundaries of his position is a recognizable thread in Caps’ career. He has never played the mid lane like someone content to stay in a narrow lane, and Tristana was one of the cleaner expressions of that.

Whether that reasoning satisfies everyone is another question. Riot will likely need to explain the choice directly once the official reveal lands.

According to the leaked information reported by Dot Esports, the Hall of Legends content tied to Caps is expected to arrive with Patch 26.18 on September 10, 2026. That would coincide neatly with the LEC Summer Split playoffs, which this year culminate with the grand finals held in Nice, France.
