That number is not just impressive in isolation. It reflects what happened at The International 8 and The International 9, where OG did something no team had ever done before. At TI8 in 2018, they defeated PSG.LGD 3-2 in the grand final. The following year at TI9, they came back with the same core roster and beat Team Liquid 3-1, becoming the first organization in the tournament’s history to win The International twice. Those two events alone pushed enormous prize payouts into OG’s column.

OG co-founder and former captain Johan “N0tail” Sundstein is woven into that achievement in a very personal way. As reported by Dot Esports, Sundstein holds the individual record for highest career prize earnings by a Dota 2 player, at more than $7 million. When the team’s record and the captain’s record are the same story, you know the run was something genuinely rare.

Team Liquid is the closest organizational rival in pure Dota 2 earnings, sitting at approximately $33.9 million, per the same source. That is a significant gap for Liquid to close, especially given how the tournament structure around The International has evolved over the years.

Three Organizations Share the TI Crown

OG no longer stands alone at the top of the TI wins column. According to Dot Esports, OG, Team Spirit, and Team Liquid are all tied at two International titles each, making them the most decorated organizations in the tournament’s long run.

OG got there first, locking in both titles consecutively. Team Spirit and Team Liquid have since matched that number through their own championship runs. The three-way tie gives the record a different flavor now. What once looked like an untouchable milestone has become a shared standard, and whoever wins a third title will step into genuinely new historical territory.

Longevity Tells a Different Story

Prize money and championship titles are the headlines, but some of the most interesting records belong to teams that built their legacies through sustained, consistent competition. Dot Esports notes that Team Liquid leads several longevity-based categories, including most professional games played, most games won, most games lost, and most Major finals appearances.

Having the most losses in a category that also measures the most wins and most games played is not a contradiction. It is just what happens when an organization stays relevant at the highest level for years on end. Liquid has been showing up to the biggest Dota 2 stages for a long time, and the record reflects exactly that.

Specialized Records Spread Across the Field

Not every record belongs to the usual names at the top. According to Dot Esports, Newbee holds the mark for the longest competitive winning streak in professional Dota 2, a category that speaks to peak dominance rather than long-term accumulation. Tundra Esports, meanwhile, holds records for highest average kills and highest average assists per game among organizations with 1,000 or more professional games played, a sign of a specific stylistic identity embedded in their match data.

The records page also tracks organizations like LGD Gaming and Team Secret across multiple categories, reflecting how deep the talent pool in Dota 2 has historically been at the top end.

Dot Esports notes that some of these marks may become increasingly difficult to match because of changes to Dota 2’s tournament structure over time. The era that produced the largest International prize pools has passed, which means the earnings records OG set during that window carry a specific historical weight that raw competition alone may not be able to replicate.
