But during a recent broadcast, the Twitch star shifted the tone from bit to something more genuinely cautionary, and the explanation he gave was hard to laugh off.

It started with an X post. Someone shared an old photo of Asmongold with the caption asking why he used to look like Cameron Winter. Instead of brushing past it, Asmongold stopped to explain what actually happened, and the answer was his teeth, or more precisely, the loss of them.

According to Asmongold, as reported by Dexerto, the change in his appearance comes down to jaw bone deterioration. When you lose teeth, the bone mass in the jaw shrinks over time. The result is a visibly different facial structure, and the way a person eats shifts along with it.

“What happened is that all my teeth fell out and it changed the way my face looks,” Asmongold said on stream. “The bone mass of your jaw deteriorates and gets smaller. And it changes the way that you eat.”

He went further. Without back teeth, he can only chew with his front teeth now. His jawline used to be more defined because he was actually using his jaw muscles. Now, that engagement is gone. “I only eat with my front teeth like a rat,” he said, “which is the reason why people say I look like a rat.”

It is a blunt self-assessment. But the medical reality behind it is not exaggerated. Tooth loss and jaw bone resorption are genuinely linked, and the facial changes Asmongold described track with what dental professionals have long documented. Coming from someone who has made a personality out of not caring about self-maintenance, it lands differently than a standard PSA.

The Warning He Wishes Someone Had Given Him

Asmongold closed out the explanation with a message that was about as direct as it gets. “Moral of the story, brush your f**king teeth. You don’t want to end up like that.”

For someone whose community has spent years marveling at how little he apparently prioritizes personal upkeep, that sentence carries real weight. Dexerto noted that despite the warning, Asmongold did not appear to be applying that same energy to his current dental habits, which at least keeps the bit alive, even if the underlying story is a little grim.

Asmongold has millions of viewers, many of them young and thoroughly glued to long gaming sessions with easy access to soda and an easy habit of skipping the bathroom. The message, wrapped in self-deprecating honesty rather than lecture-y advice, is probably more effective for it. He is not warning viewers about something hypothetical. He is showing them the result, live on stream, in his own face.

That context, the fact that a man famous for leaning into slob culture is now pointing at himself as a cautionary tale, gives the moment more texture than a typical streaming confession. He did not moralize. He just explained what happened to him and told people not to repeat it. Sometimes that is the most persuasive thing a person can do.
